The market ended the week in high spirits as the US
Federal Reserve maintains stimulus. Market sentiment
was boosted by upbeat China GDP numbers. China's
economy grew 7.8% in July-September, its fastest pace
this year. Metal stocks hailed China data with Tata Steel,
Sesa Sterlite, Jindal Steel and Power, JSW Steel and
Hindalco adding between 1-5%.
The Sensex was up 467.38 points or 2.29 percent at 20882.89, Sensex hit high of 20932.2
The Nifty was up 143.50 points or 2.37 percent at 6189.35, Nifty hit high of 6201.45 in trade day. All sectorial indices ended the day in green led by banks, metal and Capital goods which ended 3-4% higher. The rupee closed at 61.27 per dollar, down 0.07% from its previous close of 61.22 per dollar.

LIC to invest Rs 40,000 crore in equities in FY14: Chairman S K Roy State-run Life insurance Corp of India will invest Rs 40,000 crore ($6.53 billion) in domestic equities in fiscal 2014, its Chairman SK Roy told television channel in an interview. The LIC chairman also said it had invested in IT and pharmaceutical stocks, while banks, infrastructure, housing and automobile sectors were also of interest to the insurer.
2. Airtel completely acquires Qualcomm founded 4G company WBSPL Telecom major Bharti Airtel today announced it has acquired 100 per cent stake in Wireless Business Services (WBSPL), a company founded by US chipmaker Qualcomm. The company had acquired a 49 per cent stake in WBSPL in May 2012 for USD 165 million.
