Closing bell: Sensex, Nifty close lower, Axis bank stocks gain

Closing Update- Sensex and Nifty ended lower as investors took some cash off the table after indices registered record highs in the previous trading session. Investors eagerly awaited the Q2 earnings of Bharti Airtel. BSE Sensex was down 36.11 points at 33230.05, while the NSE Nifty closed lower by 24.50 points at 10, 339.20. 

Shares of Axis Bank jumped over 9% on Tuesday as investors sentiments got elevated on news reports that Bain Capital is in advanced discussion with the bank to buy 5 percent equity stake. Bain Capital reportedly is in talks with Axis Bank to invest between Rs 4,800 to 6,400 crore. 

Shares of ITC, Hero MotoCorp, Bharti Airtel and ONGC rose up to 2.5% and were the top gainers on Sensex whereas shares of Mahindra and Mahindra, Infosys Ltd, Tata Steel, SBI, Tata Motors, NTPC lost up to 2.5%. The stocks index heavyweight like Infosys, L&T, Tata Motors, SBI, M&M, HDFC Bank, and Tata Steel contributed the most to the Sensex decline.

31 Oct Tomorrow Stock Tips, Sensex, Nifty closed at record highs

Tomorrow Stock Tips- Indices ended on a positive note on Monday with Sensex gaining 100 points. Reality, Pharma, and Bank stocks traded on strong footing, led by strong gains of PNB, Lupin, and Indiabulls Real estate. Market Breadth was in line with bulls, with Advance - Decline ratio closing at 2:1 

Lupin shares focused since it shares ended the day up 2.5%, spiraling to a three-month high on best operational performance in Jul-Sep. The stock was best performed among Nifty 50 constituents, up over 6%.  

United Breweries hit a two-year high during the day ending by 6% up, ahead of its July-Sept results scheduled to be reported on November 8. 

Microsoft Corp shares jumped 6.41% after the company reported further gains from its cloud computing services.

27 Oct Sensex Nifty Closed Flat on Friday, Stocks Option Trading Tips

Closing Update- Key indices settled on a divergent note near the flat line after registering intraday volatility. The BSE Sensex closed up 10.32 points at 33,147.22, while the Nifty 50 index fell 20.75 points or 0.20% at 10,323.05, The Sensex and the Nifty had hit record highs in intraday trade. Among secondary indices, the BSE Mid-Cap index rose 0.28%. The BSE Small-Cap index gained 0.27%. Both the indices outperformed the Sensex. 

The overall health of the market was narrow with 1,312 shares advanced and 1,293 shares declined and 135 shares were unchanged. 

The NSE Nifty50 index pared gains to end in negative terrain after hitting record highs earlier in the session since Yes Bank dropped about 10% on concerns over bad loans. 

Sun Pharmaceuticals, Tata Motors Ltd, Bajaj Finance Ltd, Adani Ports and ONGC are among the gainers, while YES Bank, Infratel, Bharti Airtel, IOC and HPCL are losing steam on NSE.

26 Oct Sensex,Nifty close record high in volatile session ahead of Oct F&O expiry

Closing Update- Sensex, Nifty settled with small gains after volatile session of trade as stability in European stocks supported gains on the Exchanges. Volatility was seen during the session as near month derivatives contracts ceased today, 26 October 2017. 

The BSE Sensex settled at new high of 33,147.13, up 104.63 points for the day, while Nifty50, also achieved new milestone, ending at fresh closing high of 10,343.80, up 48.40 points. 

Metal, Oil & Energy stocks offered a stellar gain in today’s trading hours with SAIL, Hindalco, OMCs and the O&G. Tata Steel, Maruti Suzuki, Infosys Ltd, Bajaj Auto, Sun Pharma were the lead gainers on Sensex, advanced up to 3%. The stocks of Maruti Suzuki, IOC, HPCL, RIL, Infosys, Vedanta and L&T contributed the most to the index up-surge. 

Indian Oil, HPCL, BPCL, Cipla Ltd and Hindalco are among the gainers, while HCL Technologies, Indiabulls Housing Finance, Ambuja Cement, SBI and ICICI bank have lost steam on NSE. 

The Steel and infrastructure company’s stocks are going to benefit from govt massive road building program unveiled on 24 October 2017 so as to further optimize the efficiency of movement of goods and people across the country.

Sensex, Nifty close at all-time high, PSU banks stocks surge, Tomorrow Stock Tips

Closing update- Sensex, Nifty settled with solid gains as various measures taken by the govt to spur economy, including capitalization of PSU banks and colossal road building program boosted sentiment. The BSE Sensex jumped 435.16 points at 33,042.50, while the Nifty 50 index rose 87.70 points at 10,295.40.as per closing data. The market gained for the third consecutive day. 

The Sensex settled beyond the psychologically significant 33,000 level after crossing that landmark for the first time in history. Global stock markets stability has also supported gains on the Exchanges. SBI, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank and L&T were top gainers whereas Kotak Bank and HDFC Bank were losing sheen. 

PSU banks picked up momentum after cabinet approved public sector bank capitalization plan of Rs 2.11 lakh crore over 2 years. Among PSU bank stocks, UCO Bank went up 19.87%, Syndicate Bank rose 16.61%, PNB spurta 49.57%, Bank of India jets 33.14%, Allahabad Bank rose 22.48%, Bank of Baroda went up 28.54%, SBI up 26.58%, Union Bank of India up 33.99%, Canara Bank rose 38.1%, Corporation Bank rose 19.92% and United Bank of India jumps 7.97%.

Market gains for second consecutive day; Asian Paints rises on strong Q2 Result

The Sensex and Nifty rose for a second successive session on Tuesday as expectations of good earnings lifted industry heavyweights like Infosys Ltd and HDFC Bank. The 30-share BSE Sensex closed higher by 100.62 points, or 0.31%, to 32,607.34, whereas the NSE Nifty rose 22.85 points, or 0.22%, to close at 10,207.70. Stellar buying in Oil & Gas, Power, and Utilities sector help indices keep up positive gains. 

Asian Paints, NTPC, ONGC, Zee Entertainment and SBI Bank are among the gainers, while Infosys, HCL, Tata Motors, Indusland Bank and YES Bank, have ended on a negative note on NSE. 

Asian Paints surged 4.76% after consolidated net profit jumped 8% to Rs 508.42 crore on 13.7% rise in revenue from operations to Rs. 4,274.18 crore in Q2 Sept 2017 Y-O-Y. 

Shares of power production companies gained for the second consecutive day. JSW Energy rose 1.23%, Torrent Power surge 0.13%, NTPC up 2.92%, Power Grid Corporation up 1.18%, Reliance Infrastructure gains 2.31% and Reliance Power rose 0.38%.

Sensex, Nifty settle with Modest Gains: IT & Realty Stocks Rally, Tomorrow Stock Tips

Indian stock markets picked up momentum in the afternoon trade amid firm global markets. At the closing, the BSE Sensex closed higher by 116.76 points at 32,506.72 and the NSE Nifty finished up by 38.40 points at 10,184.90. The BSE Mid Cap finished up by 0.5% whereas Small Cap finished up by 0.1%. Gains were mainly seen in stocks such as realty, software and power sectors. 

Ultra Cement, Ambuja Cement, Bharti Airtel, HCL and Reliance are among the gainers, while Axis Bank, Infratel, Cipla Ltd, and Lupin are losing shine on NSE. Shares of Axis Bank continued to slide and lost 2.5% on BSE, with the stock extending post-result fall after the private sector bank reported its rise in bad loans on sequential and annual basis in Q2 Sept 2017. 

Telecom stocks carried on its good run with Idea share price and Bharti Airtel leading the gains. Stocks of telecom companies were up post last week's news of Reliance Jio Infocomm increasing its tariff plans whereby indicating stability in the market may be around the corner.

Nifty ends above 10,160, Sensex closes 250 points up, Stock trading calls tomorrow

Closing Update- The Nifty 50 hit a fresh record high of 10,167.50, up 0.71.10 points, while BSE Sensex gains 250.47 point to 32,432.69, on Friday closing. 

Investors risk appetite improved on hopes that a rise in industrial production and a steady inflation could boost pressure on the RBI to reduce interest rates to improve economic activity.  

Stocks of Reliance Industries hit record high for second successive day ahead of its Sept quarter earnings due later in the day. 

Top Gainers And Top Losers- Bharti Airtel up 7.85%, Tata Steel up 2.84%, Kotak Bank up 2.04% and HDFC Bank rose 1.89% making them top gainers today while, shares of Dr Reddy’s Labs and Mahindra and Mahindra fell 1.09% and 1.05%, each. Bharti Infratel continued to rise after the deal between Bharti Airtel and Tata Sons for Tatas' consumer telecom buz.

Sensex higher 348 points, Tomorrow stock trading tips, Nifty future calls

The Indian stock market closed at 3-week high led by Reliance Industries. The BSE Sensex closed higher by 348.23 points to 32,182.22, while the Nifty50 nudged 111.60 points to close at 10,096.40. All the sectoral indices were trading in positive terrain. 

The BSE Metal Index and Energy surge more than 2%. FMCG, finance, healthcare and industrials jumped more than 1%. Markets witness a robust rally with Nifty/Bank Nifty posted more than 1% of intraday gains. 

Heavyweights such as Reliance Industries, HDFC Bank & Tata Consultancy Services were helping Nifty to close at 3-week closing highs.  The other gainers include Aurobindo Pharma, Hindalco, Infratel, Sun Pharma whereas Infosys, Bharti Airtel, Ultra Cement, IOC and UPL are losing steam on NSE.

Closing Bell: Sensex Nifty Ended High, Oil & Gas Stocks Lead the Losses

Closing Update- BSE Sensex closed higher by 32.67 points to 31,846.89, whereas the NSE Nifty rose 9.05 points, or 0.09%, to 9,988.75. 

Stocks markets continued trade slightly higher in the afternoon session as corporate results kick off later this week. Turning to the closing bell, BSE Sensex closed higher by 32.67 points to 31,846.89, whereas the NSE Nifty rose 9.05 points, or 0.09%, to 9,988.75. 

Kotak Mahindra Bank, Yes Bank, Eicher Motors, Tech Mahindra, Dr Reddy's and Coal India gained more than 1% while RIL, Vedanta, ONGC, Aurobindo Pharma, HPCL and GAIL India fell to some extent. 

The BSE Mid Cap finished down by 0.1 percent while Small Cap finished up by 0.6 percent. Gains were largely registered in realty stocks and FMCG stocks while energy and power stocks witnessed majority of the selling movement. 

Rupee was trading at Rs 65.31 against the US dollar in the afternoon session while Oil prices were trading at USD 49.31.

Sensex closes 80 points down, Nifty below 9,900, Tomorrow stocks trading tips

Closing Update- Shares slipped on Thursday after four consecutive sessions of gains as investors booked profits in oil refiners after the RBI kept rates unchanged. The RBI held its policy rate steady near 7-year lows on Wednesday after inflation rose, but looked to sustain the cooling economy by driving banks into lending more. 

The BSE Sensex was down 79.68 points at 31,592.03, while the NSE Nifty was down 26.20 points at 9,888.70. The market breadth was positive as 1,493 shares rose against a fall of 1,148 shares, while 106 shares were unchanged. 

Coal India, NTPC, Ambuja Cements and Aurobindo Pharma were the top gainers, while ICICI Bank, Tech Mahindra, Hero MotoCorp and Bharti Infratel lost the most.

Sensex, Nifty close higher as RBI keeps repo rate steady, Tomorrow stock tips

Closing Update- The BSE Sensex closes higher by 174.33 points to 31,671.71, while the NSE Nifty rises 55.40 points, to close at 9,914.90. 

The indices gained after the RB kept interest rates unchanged because of it anticipates upside risks to retail inflation. The central Bank has also slashed its growth projections for the current fiscal and raised its inflation projections. 

The RBI kept its neutral policy standpoint but acknowledging slow-moving economic activity, lowered its fiscal 2018 projection for gross value added to 6.7% from 7.3%. 

In the broader markets, BSE Mid-cap closed at 15,614 level, up by 59 points, while Small-cap index closed at 16,320 level, up by 127 points. Bank Nifty ended at 24,113 level, up by 0.04%. 

Tata Motors DVR, Reliance Industries and Sun Pharma were the top gainers on both indices, while Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank and Axis Bank lost the most.
Selling activity was visible in sectors including Telecom, IT, Metal and Consumer Durables. Nifty Pharma index was the top gaining index ending at 9,372.3 level, up by 1.71% while Nifty Metal index ended lower by 0.15% at 3,588.1 level.

Markets extend gains for 3rd consecutive; Sensex up 214 pts, Nifty ends at 9859

Closing Update- The Indian share market extended gains for the third straight session on Tuesday with the Nifty50 ending above 9850 as auto companies such as Tata Motors surged after posting stellar monthly sales, while Dr Reddy’s stock sky rocketed on the launch of a drug in its key US market. Investors also keenly await the RBI’s policy meeting on Wednesday, with the central bank expected to keep rates on hold. 

Oil marketing firms also went up higher on Tuesday’s trade. OMC’s namely Indian Oil Corporation closed higher by 1.77% at Rs 407.15/share, Hindustan Petroleum Corpn Ltd gained 1.74% at Rs 433.90 per share and Bharat Petroleum Corpn Ltd gained 1.25% at Rs 478 per share. 

Closing Bell Gainers: GAIL India up 4%, Tata Motors up 3.5% while Power Grid down 3%, Airtel down 1.5% and Cipla down 1%. Tata Motors stock rose 4% on bagging Rs 1,120 Cr order for 10,000 e-cars.
