Closing Update- Sensex, Nifty settled with small gains after volatile session of trade as stability in European stocks supported gains on the Exchanges. Volatility was seen during the session as near month derivatives contracts ceased today, 26 October 2017.
The BSE Sensex settled at new high of 33,147.13, up 104.63 points for the day, while Nifty50, also achieved new milestone, ending at fresh closing high of 10,343.80, up 48.40 points.
Metal, Oil & Energy stocks offered a stellar gain in today’s trading hours with SAIL, Hindalco, OMCs and the O&G. Tata Steel, Maruti Suzuki, Infosys Ltd, Bajaj Auto, Sun Pharma were the lead gainers on Sensex, advanced up to 3%. The stocks of Maruti Suzuki, IOC, HPCL, RIL, Infosys, Vedanta and L&T contributed the most to the index up-surge.
Indian Oil, HPCL, BPCL, Cipla Ltd and Hindalco are among the gainers, while HCL Technologies, Indiabulls Housing Finance, Ambuja Cement, SBI and ICICI bank have lost steam on NSE.
The Steel and infrastructure company’s stocks are going to benefit from govt massive road building program unveiled on 24 October 2017 so as to further optimize the efficiency of movement of goods and people across the country.
