The 50 share nifty was closed down 46.55 points or 0.76% at 6073.70, it was touch a high of 6082.85 and touch a low of 6027.25.
Tata motors 3.26%, Bharti Airtel 2.22%, Gail 1.45%, HCL Tech 1.24%, M&M 1.06%, BHEL 0.82%, Lupin 0.68%, NTPC 0.63%, TCS 0.56%, HDFC 0.41% were top nifty gainers.
PNB 4.29%, bank of baroda 4.22%, DLF 4.15%, SBIN 3.53%, Hero motocrop 3.36%, Hindalco 3.31%, SSLT 3.25%, JP Associate 2.93%, Tata steel 2.60%, Axsi bank 2.42% were top nifty losers.
