The nifty 50-share index up 60.55 points or 0.84% at 7263.55, it touched a high of at 7291.10 and low of 7193.55.
The mid-cap and small-cap was jumped 4-6 per cent.
The S&P BSE indices power index gain 10 per cent, Capital goods, realty, metals index up 8.5 to 7 per cent, Bank share and consumer index up 2 per cent and Auto index was slugged. The bank nifty closed up at 15000 in first time.
BHEL 14.42%, Coal India 13.20%, NTPC 12.16%, PNB 11.23%, ONGC 8.11%, Tata power 8.03%, DLF 7.84%, Jindal steel 7.45%, Hindalco 7.33%, IDFC 6.57% were top nifty gainers today.
TCS 6.24%, Dr. Reddy's 5.48%, Infosys 5.27%, Hindustan unilvr 4.95%, ITC 4.75%, Sun Pharma 4.71%, Lupin 4.62%, Wipro 4.30%, HCL Tech 4.11%, Techm 4.09% were top nifty losers today.
