NSE to auction investment limits for Rs. 9300 cr govt bonds

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) will auction investment limits for overseas investors for purchase of govt debt securities worth over Rs 9300 cr on Monday,October 17, 2016. The auction will be conducted on NSE's e-bid platform from 15:30 hours to 17:30 hours, after the close of market hours. 

The debt auction quota enables overseas investors the right to invest in the debt, up to the limit purchased. As per the current data available with depositories, the total investment in government debt has touched Rs. 138,667 cr, till yesterday, which was 93.69% of total permitted limit of Rs 1.48 lakh cr. 

Accordingly, the NSE has decided to conduct an auction for the allocation of underutilized debt limits to the tune of Rs. 9333 cr on Monday, Oct 17. Besides, a mock bidding session would be conducted today. The debt auction quota enable overseas investors right to invest in the debt, upto the limit purchased.
