Sensex, Nifty close marginally higher; Realty, metal stocks gain

The Sensex, Nifty settled with tiny gains after a range bound and lackluster sessions of trade on Monday amid mostly lower global stocks. The BSE Sensex closed higher by 17.10 points to 33,359.90, while the NSE Nifty50 rose 15.15 points to close at 10,298.75. Key indices swung between gains and losses around the flat line during the session. Market gained for the third consecutive day. 

On the BSE, the stocks of Energy, Healthcare, FMCG, Telecom, Utilities, Industrials, Metal and Reality sectors gained, whereas IT and Technology sectors showed weakness. 

GAIL India, Coal India, ONGC, and Tata Power were the top gainers, while ICICI Bank, Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, and Ambuja Cements were the top losers. GAIL India share rose 4%, Yes Bank rose 2.5%, Bosch rose 2%, while on downside, Ambuja cement lose 3.5% and , Dr Reddy’s Lab edged lower by 2%.  

The top gainers in the Nifty50 Index include, GAIL, YES Bank, Vedanta, Bosch, Coal India, Kotak Mahindra Bank NTPC Oil & Natural Gas Corporation and Indiabulls Housing Finance Ltd. Nifty Realty index gained over 2%, with shares of Indiabulls Real Estate which zoomed at up to 8%.

PSU banks helps Sensex closed higher, 15 June Nifty Trading Prediction Tomorrow

Closing update- The Domestic market closed marginally high on Wednesday, helped by gain in PSU bank and realty stocks. The Sensex closed up 52.42 points at 31,155.91, while The Nifty ended gain 11.25 points at 9618.15.

The market 1249 shares advanced against a 1419 shares declined, while 169 shares were unchanged. Reliance Industries top gainers for the day, followed by Dr.Reddy's and Bank of baroda.

Nifty ends at 7979; Sensex falls 1 percent, Stocks option call put tomorrow

On the closing bell of the market today, Equity benchmarks extended losses for the seventh successive session, falling 1 percent weighed by banking and financial, infra, oil and metals stocks.

The BSE Sensex ended 263 points lower at 25,980, while the broader Nifty50 settled at 7,979 down 82 points. The broad market also depicted weakness with BSE Midcap falling 1.5 percent while BSE Smallcap  ended 1.25 percent lower.

Nifty, which ended at 7979 for the first time since November 25, extending losses for a seventh straight session, its longest losing streak in 12 - 18 months.

About 1978 shares declined, while 665 shares advanced on the BSE. Meanwhile, India’s Volatile Index extended gains for second consecutive day, up 4.86 percent at 15.4200.

Sensex sheds 115 points lower, Nifty at 8,104, Tomorrow share market tips

On Monday closing, the benchmark indices settled on a lower note amid mixed global cues, showing two-week closing low with the Sensex falling 114.86 points to 26374.70 dragged by losses in Sun Pharma, Asian Paints, HDFC and Bharti Airtel. Broader Nifty also slipped below 8,100 level.  

GAIL, ICICI Bank, Cipla and NTPC were the top gainers on BSE Sesex.

Broader market performed in line the headline indices with BSE Midcap and Smallcap down 0.51 percent and 0.46 percent respectively. 

Looking to Asian markets, it  finished broadly lower today as China's bond market witnessed a sell-off last week in the midst of  tightening of short-term credit by China's central bank.

Sensex pares most gains; Nifty50 above 8,140; Idea rallies 5%, Maruti 4%.

The benchmark indices trimmed initial gains to settle the day flat with the Sensex closed up 43.84 points (2%) at 26394.01 and the Nifty was up 15.25 points (2%) at 8142.15. 

Market breadth remained strong with 1578 advances over 1024 declines on the BSE. A total of 198 shares were unchanged. Maruti, Bharti Airtel, GAIL, Hero MotoCorp and M&M were top gainers while Axis Bank, Sun Pharma, NTPC, ITC and TCS were losers. 

The broader market outperformed the headline indices with BSE Midcap index and BSE Smallcap index settling the day 0.5 percent higher each.  

Meanwhile, the Lok Sabha today passed the Bill to amend Income Tax Act to impose tax on deposits made post-demonetization without dispute. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley moved the Bill amidst uproar by the Opposition.

Nifty holds 8500 level, Sensex rises about 185 pts, Tomorrow Stock Future Tips

Monday Market kept on its early gains maintaining an uptrend trade with the Nifty holding 8500 level. The global investment bank underlines Pharma major Lupin as the top pick in the Indian pharma sector, gaining 7%, while Aurobindo, Hindalco rally 5% The market has ended with small gains. 

The 50-share index was 63.30 points up or 0.7 percent at 8497.05, while the Sensex was up 184.84 points or 0.7 percent at 27458.99. 

About 1993 shares have advanced, while 881 shares declined, there is no change in 134 shares. 

The top gainers are Lupin, SBI, ICICI Bank, BHEL, ITC whereas losers in the Sensex are TCS, L&T, Tata Motors, HUL and HDF

C.

The sharp fall in the gold imports may possibly to a cut in the import duty on the yellow metal. The Gold import was down 65%  in the first half of this fiscal year. Value of imports has also plunged radically.

Sensex ends at 3 month low, ICICI (+6.91%), Nifty lower 63 Pts

The BSE Sensex closed its lowest in more than 3 months on Monday, since investors supported themselves for a tepid quarterly earnings season, amidst weakness across global equity markets. 

The benchmark BSE index ended down 143.63 points or 0.52% at 27,529.97, posting its lowest close since July 8. The broader NSE index ended 63 points or 0.73% down at 8,520.40, its lowest close since July 21. 

Top 5 Sensex gainers were ICICI Bank (+6.91%), NTPC (+1.76%), HUL (+0.88%),ONGC (+0.69%) and SBI (+0.48%), while the major losers were M & M (-3.22%), Hero Moto Corp (-2.24%), Asian Paints (-2.07%), HDFC Bank (-1.87%) and Bajaj Auto (-1.8%). 

Markets back home were a bit slow after Sept-quarter results of two biggest exporters, Tata Consultancy Services & Infosys, failed to cheer investors.

NSE to auction investment limits for Rs. 9300 cr govt bonds

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) will auction investment limits for overseas investors for purchase of govt debt securities worth over Rs 9300 cr on Monday,October 17, 2016. The auction will be conducted on NSE's e-bid platform from 15:30 hours to 17:30 hours, after the close of market hours. 

The debt auction quota enables overseas investors the right to invest in the debt, up to the limit purchased. As per the current data available with depositories, the total investment in government debt has touched Rs. 138,667 cr, till yesterday, which was 93.69% of total permitted limit of Rs 1.48 lakh cr. 

Accordingly, the NSE has decided to conduct an auction for the allocation of underutilized debt limits to the tune of Rs. 9333 cr on Monday, Oct 17. Besides, a mock bidding session would be conducted today. The debt auction quota enable overseas investors right to invest in the debt, upto the limit purchased.
