Stock Markets ended marginally higher on Tuesday after falling in the last five trading sessions on account o value buying by investors. The BSE Sensex rose 35 points or 0.1 percent to 34,651 and the NSE Nifty 50 index advanced 20 points or 0.19 percent or 10,537 on closing.
Top gainers in Sensex were Dr Reddy's, Bajaj Auto, Tata Motors, State Bank of India, and Coal India, rising up to 6.30 percent, while TCS, Asian paints, Axis Bank were losers.
Nifty Top Gainers in sequence namely Dr. Reddys, Bajaj Finserve, SBI, Tata Motors and Bajaj Auto. On the other hand IOC, UltraTech Cement, Bharti Infratel, Indusind bank and Asian Paints lost the most.
Shares of Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOC) ended at Rs. 159.30 down by 3.54% on NSE, after the company posted a profit of Rs.5218.10 crore for the quarter ending March 31, 2018.
India’s largest lender State bank of India (SBI) rose 4.60 percent on NSE, in spite of the lender posting a second consecutive quarterly loss.
Shares of Tata Motors Ltd ended 4.09 percent higher on NSE after China said it will slash the import duty on passenger cars to 15 pc.
