Sensex plummets 468 pts on rupee woes, Nifty below 11,450

Key benchmark Sensex and Nifty clocked its steep fall on Monday as a new record low in rupee raised fresh concerns over foreign fund outflows, which hit Rs 5,600 crore in the last five sessions.  

The 30-scrip Sensex tanked 467.65 points to 37,922.17 while the NSE Nifty ended the session at 11,438.10, down 151 points. In the Sensex, 8 stocks closed higher and the remaining 42 ended lower. Selling force was gripped in FMCG, consumer durables, telecom, finance, banks realty, metals, power, energy and auto sectors. 

HCL Tech up 1.54%, Axis Bank rose 0.92%, Zee went up 0.66%, Cipla higher 0.24%, and TCS up 0.20%. On the other hand, Bajaj Finance, Indiabulls Housing Finance, Bajaj Finserve and Sun Pharma were top losers. Pharma, auto, FMCG, realty and financials stocks too helped the Nifty PSU Bank index in dragging the NSE benchmark Nifty lower.  

Bank Nifty closing the session 1.02 per cent lower at 27,201.75. Besides, all the Nifty sectoral constituents ended in the red, with Nifty Pharma Index closing 2.01 per cent lower at 10,446.50. 

Shares of RITES Ltd jumped over 3.45% on NSE after the company announced that it has obtained an additional work of Rs 294.67 crore from the Ministry of Railways.

Markets end marginally higher, Nifty top gainers and losers

Stock Markets ended marginally higher on Tuesday after falling in the last five trading sessions on account o value buying by investors. The BSE Sensex rose 35 points or 0.1 percent to 34,651 and the NSE Nifty 50 index advanced 20 points or 0.19 percent or 10,537 on closing. 

Top gainers in Sensex were Dr Reddy's, Bajaj Auto, Tata Motors, State Bank of India, and Coal India, rising up to 6.30 percent, while TCS, Asian paints, Axis Bank were losers. 

Nifty Top Gainers in sequence namely Dr. Reddys, Bajaj Finserve, SBI, Tata Motors and Bajaj Auto. On the other hand IOC, UltraTech Cement, Bharti Infratel, Indusind bank and Asian Paints lost the most. 

Shares of Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOC) ended at Rs. 159.30 down by 3.54% on NSE, after the company posted a profit of Rs.5218.10 crore for the quarter ending March 31, 2018. 

India’s largest lender State bank of India (SBI) rose 4.60 percent on NSE, in spite of the lender posting a second consecutive quarterly loss. 

Shares of Tata Motors Ltd ended 4.09 percent higher on NSE after China said it will slash the import duty on passenger cars to 15 pc.

Closing Updates- Sensex plunges near 239 Points as fuel Prices Surge

The BSE Sensex ended lower by 238.76 points at 35,149.12 and the NSE Nifty down 58.50 points at 10,682.70 as concern over whether the BJP will prove majority in Karnataka knocked investor mood. Moreover, worries over rising interest rates and petrol, diesel prices continued to flatten markets. 

Shares of IndusInd Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Yes Bank, Axis Bank, Asian Paint, Reliance, NTPC, Adani Ports, HDFC, Bharti Airtel, Tata Steel and ITC led the fall by dropping upto 2.40 percent. 

In the Nifty-50 pack of NSE, shares of Bajaj Finance and Bajaj FinServe were the top gainers based on their quarterly numbers. Coal India, Sun Pharma and Bharti Infratel were also toppers in NSE. 

Shares of Reliance Communications (RCom), hit high volatility after reports that the company was eyeing at a court settlement with Ericsson. However, RCom stocks surged 56.87 percent at Rs. 16.55 on BSE, while on NSE the share rose by 65.71 percent at Rs. 17.40. 

Shares of Tata Steel ended lower by 1.76%, at Rs. 610.30, reacting to its quarterly numbers. Shares of Taj GVK Hotels & Resorts Limited gained 1.90 percent to Rs 227.65 after the Company a good set of numbers for the quarter ending March 3, 2018.

Sensex, Nifty end higher; Top Stocks to buy and Sell Tomorrow

Sensex and the Nifty ended higher for a third straight session on Monday, driven by gains in IT and financial stocks, with TCS crossing USD 100 billion in the M-Cap. 

The BSE Index closed up 0.1% at 34,450.77, while the NSE Nifty ended 0.2% higher at 10,584.70. IndusInd Bank and Mahindra & Mahindra, Sun Pharma, Asian Paints, Yes bank, Adani were the top five gainers, while HDFC Bank, Coal India, Hero MotoCorp, ICICI Bank, Tata Motors and ONGC were the top losers. 

TCS shares ended down 0.26% after hitting a record high earlier in the session. Shares of HDFC Bank were down 1.42% at Rs 1,933.05 on BSE. Following the fall in the share prices, the stock of HDFC Bank alone erased about 58 points from Sensex. 

Nifty IT index gained 0.74 percent with Tata Elxsi, Mindtree, HCL Tech, KIPT, and Infosys, while Wiwpro, Infibeam, Oracle Financial Services, TCS and Tech Mahindra fell in Nifty IT index. 

Meanwhile, gold price fell by Rs 140 to Rs 32,310 per ten grams at the bullion market, New Delhi. Besides, price of crude oil dipped a little on the back of rising U.S borrowing costs.

Closing Updates- Tata Motors reported its sales figure up 18 pc; Stock rises

Sensex closed higher 0.47%, Nifty-50 rose 0.40%, to close at 10,458.65 on Thursday.

Automobile major Tata Motors Limited announced its global wholesale figures for March 2018 on Wednesday, posting an 18% increase in its global wholesales for March 2018 at 1, 53,156 in comparison with the sales of March 2017. Recently, Tata Motors Limited recorded a hike in JLR sales in spite of a dampened market in both the U.K and Europe.

According to the Company, the global wholesales of all the Tata Motors’ commercial vehicles and Tata Daewoo range increased by 33 percent at 56,399 nos in March 2018 on Y-o-Y basis, while, the global wholesales of all passenger vehicles jumped by over 11 percent at 96,757 nos, on Y-o-Y.

Shares of Tata Motors ended at Rs. 358.05 per share, higher by 2.75 percent on BSE on Thursday. It opened at Rs. 359.30 and touched a high of Rs. 363.95 and a Low of Rs, 356.85 on BSE. On NSE, Tata Motors shares ended at Rs. 202.05 up by 0.65% against previous close of Rs. 200.75.

The BSE Sensex closed higher by 160.69 points to 34,101.13, while the NSE Nifty-50 rose 41.50 points to close at 10,458.65.

Closing Update: Sensex, Nifty Up supported by Metal, IT stocks

Benchmark indices ended with moderate gains, supported by gains in metal, IT stocks, following mixed global cues. The BSE Sensex rose 60.19 points to 33,940.44, while the NSE Nifty-50 up 11.95 points. Huge selling in bank shares capped gains in key indices. Shares of PSU oil marketing companies slumped following crude price rise. 

HDFC mutual fund has loaded shares of India’s third-largest private sector lender Axis Bank in its portfolio taking the stake to more than 1 percent in Axis Bank the financial year 2017-18 among one of the changes in the share-holding pattern in the last fiscal. 

Shares of Axis Bank have managed to return about 5 percent in the Financial year 2018 while the benchmark index Nifty Bank has jumped around 15 percent with HDFC Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank and Indus
Ind Bank returning 25 to 35 percent.

Index heavyweights gave support with TCS (+2.46%) and Reliance Industries (+1.6%) higher. 

Shares of Oil marketing companies were the major losers due to a surge in crude prices and on account of report from the govt asking the companies to bear the trouble and not raise the retail diesel and petrol prices leading to a loss of about Rs 1.00 per litre. 

Gainers and Losers: Vedanta Ltd (+4.59%), Tata Consultancy Services Limited (+2.46%), Sun Pharma (+2.31%). On the other hand losers were oil companies such as BPCL (-7.92%), HPCL (-7.88%), IOC (-6.72%).

Closing Update- Key indices opened marginally higher in the opening trade on Monday, but quickly turned negative zone, with BSE Sensex falling more than 100 points and NSE Nifty below 10,450. 

stock trading tips PSU bank stocks continued to trade lower in the second week after PNB disclosed a Rs. 11,400 crore fraud wearing away about Rs. 9,000 crore in market cap in three days. The stock of Gitanjali Gems also plunged about 10 percent in the morning. 

Shares Bank of Baroda, Syndicate Bank, Indian Bank, SBI, IDBI Bank, Bank of India, PNB, Union Bank of India

, Canara Bank, Allahabad Bank and Uco Bank were also down in banking stocks. 

Shares of Tata Steel Limited fell over 4 percent followed by a drop in shares of Adani Ports, Mahindra and Mahindra, Hindustan Unilever and L&T. 

Bench mark Nifty50 was trading down 39.70 points to 10,412.60 while BSE Sensex down by 211.46 point to 33,889. 

Nifty Gainers & Losers: Infratel (+1.11%), Vedanta (+0.86%) Ambuja (+0.70%), GAIL (+0.68%) and UltraTech Cement (+0.52%), were the top gainers on Nifty50. Tata Steel (-4.24%), Indiabulls (-1.94%) Zee (-1.97%), Bharti Airtel (-1.76%), and Tech Mahindra (-1.75%) were the top losers in today’s trade, at the time of this writing.

Sensex peaks at record high, Nifty at 10,623, pharma, IT stocks rise

Key indices ended on a strong note with the Sensex and the Nifty hitting record highs in early trade, tracking stability in Asian stocks. The BSE Sensex surged to a new record high at 34352.79 up 198.94 points while the NSE Nifty crossed the 10,623.60 up 64.75 points at 10,623.60 on strong gains in pharma, IT and banking stocks amid optimism over quarterly earnings by corporates.  

Shares of Coal India, Infosys, Sun Pharma, Lupin, Indiabulls HF, Tech Mahindra, BPCL and L&T stood among the top gainers in the Nifty50 index on Monday.  On the other hand, shares of Bharti Airtel, ONGC, Power Grid, Tata Steel, Asian Paints and Adani Ports SEZ remained the top losers on Monday.  

Except Nifty PSU Bank index, all sectoral indices closed the day in the positive zone. OBC, Indian Bank and Allahabad Bank were the only three stocks in the PSU bank index that managed to settle in the green on Monday.  

Information technology stocks were mostly higher. Infosys spiked 1.97%, Tech Mahindra rose 1.42%, Tata consultancy service went up 1.06% and Wipro edged higher by 0.61%, whereas shares of Oracle Fin Services Software slipped 0.07% and HCL Technologies edged down 0.32%. 

Engineering & construction equipment major Larson & Toubro rose 1.71% at Rs 1,337, with the stock hitting record high in intraday, after the company announced that its construction arm has secured orders worth Rs 2,265 crore.

Sensex falls over 240 pts; Nifty down 95 pts at 10435.50

Closed Market- Sensex, Nifty shut the first trading session of 2018 near day’s low accompanied by a sharp sell-off in the end hour of trades. Selling pressure in auto stocks, IT, among others, led to a plunge in Indian market, with the BSE Sensex down 244.08 points at 33,812.75, while the NSE Nifty slipped by 95.20 points at 10435.50. Auto stocks nose-dived. 

The auto index such as Ashok Leyland (-0.5%), M&M (-1.07%), Tata Motors (-1.25%), Hero MotoCorp (-0.59%), Bajaj Auto (-0.76%) and Eicher Motors LImited (-1.16%) edged lower. 

Top gains catch by BHEL, Coal India Ltd, Tata Power Ltd and Indiabulls HF, while major losers include IndusInd Bank, Tata Motors Ltd, Tata Consultancy Services, Bharti Infratel. 

FMCG major Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) dropped 1.4% at Rs 1,349, while housing finance major HDFC declined 0.94% at Rs 1,694.35. Telecom Stocks declined, which include Idea Cellular (-2.87%), Reliance Communications (-2.54%), Bharti Infratel (-2.07%) and Bharti Airtel (-0.17%). 

Except the Nifty realty, Nifty media and pharma index all the other sectoral indices ended with losses. Nifty Bank and Auto indices were the top losers followed by IT and FMCG index.

Sensex closed record high, Nifty hit 10,500 led by shares of Infosys & TCS

Sensex Nifty high Benchmark indices closed record high on Friday led by gains in IT behemoth Infosys, Tata Consultancy Service and Wipro. The BSE Sensex ended higher by 184.02 points to 33,940.30, whereas the NSE Nifty-50 rose 52.70 points to close at 10,493. 

Nifty hit the 10500-level for the first-time-ever on Friday led by the up move in the shares of Infosys, TCS, SBI, RIL,  L&T, HDFC  twins, ONGC, Bajaj Finance, and ICICI Bank. 

Shares of Infosys Ltd shares rose 2.23% to Rs. 1,044.80, its highest since 20 Oct 2016. All sectoral indices on BSE, barring metal and consumer durables, ended higher with I.T and Teck Resources leading gains. ONGC, Bajaj Auto, Bharti Airtel were among top gainers, whereas Hero MotoCorp, Coal India, and Tata Steel were the major losers.

Sensex ends 118 points up, Nifty trims gains, pharma stocks top gainers

Indian shares rose for a fourth successive session on Tuesday, boosted by Reliance Industries Ltd after Goldman Sachs reportedly raised its target price on the stock by 26% to Rs. 1,205 and gave the stock a ‘buy’ rating. 

The BSE Sensex closed higher by 118.45 points to 33,478.35, whereas the NSE Nifty 50 rose 28.15 points to close at 10,326.90. The BSE Mid Cap finished up by 0.1 percent while the Small Cap finished up by 0.4 percent. Gains were mainly seen on the back of strong pharma index, energy and consumer durables sector. Dr Reddy’s Lab led the Pharma sector, gaining over 5 percent. Meanwhile, shares of Coal India, ITC and Power Grid fell 1.51%, 1.08% and 1.03%, respectively. 

Shares prices of HDFC Standard Life have spiked about 50% from its Initial Public Offer price in just three days of listing on the stock market. The stocks had jumped 44.44 percent to the record high of Rs. 418.9 from the issue price of Rs 290, which ended 8.88 percent higher at Rs 386.9 on NSE today.

Sensex up 236 points, Nifty above 10,280, on Moody’s ratings upgrade

The Stock market registered modest gains, extending previous session's gains. The BSE Sensex advanced 235.98 points at 33,342.80, while the NSE Nifty50 index rose 68.85 points to settle at 10,283.60. Metal, Reality and Bank sectors push the market upwards. 

Positive global cues boosted sentiment. Investor risk appetite also increased after rating agency Moody's Investors Service has upgraded sovereign rating of India a notch above investment grade after a long gap of 14 years. Moody ratings increased the investors’ sentiments, pushing the banking and financial sector stocks up. Metal stocks bloomed with the gains of JSW Steel, Hindalco and Vedanta. 

Realty stocks surged after the Union Cabinet has approved the increase in the carpet area of houses qualified for interest subsidy scheme under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban). Index pivotal HDFC, HDFC Bank and ITC advanced. 

Overseas, European stocks edged down as investors conceived further earnings and data. AsianStocks jumped up as global equities come out to bounce back after declines in the week earlier. US equities rose yesterday, 16 Nov 2017, rebounding from consecutive falls, following stellar quarterly results.

Sensex, Nifty close higher as RBI keeps repo rate steady, Tomorrow stock tips

Closing Update- The BSE Sensex closes higher by 174.33 points to 31,671.71, while the NSE Nifty rises 55.40 points, to close at 9,914.90. 

The indices gained after the RB kept interest rates unchanged because of it anticipates upside risks to retail inflation. The central Bank has also slashed its growth projections for the current fiscal and raised its inflation projections. 

The RBI kept its neutral policy standpoint but acknowledging slow-moving economic activity, lowered its fiscal 2018 projection for gross value added to 6.7% from 7.3%. 

In the broader markets, BSE Mid-cap closed at 15,614 level, up by 59 points, while Small-cap index closed at 16,320 level, up by 127 points. Bank Nifty ended at 24,113 level, up by 0.04%. 

Tata Motors DVR, Reliance Industries and Sun Pharma were the top gainers on both indices, while Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank and Axis Bank lost the most.
Selling activity was visible in sectors including Telecom, IT, Metal and Consumer Durables. Nifty Pharma index was the top gaining index ending at 9,372.3 level, up by 1.71% while Nifty Metal index ended lower by 0.15% at 3,588.1 level.

Nifty ends over 8270, Sensex rallies 245 points, Top Stock BUY Tomorrow

On Thursday closing, the benchmark indices settled the day higher tracking global markets cues on positive economic data and increase in oil prices as investors were confident ahead of corporate earnings and Union Budget 2017

Sensex hit its highest in almost 2-months high during the day, while the broader NSE Nifty hit a near one-month high led by gains in metal, oil & gas, banking and auto sectors. 

The BSE Sensex settled the day at 26,878, up 245 points, while the broader Nifty50 ended 83 points higher at 8,274. Broader market also shined with BSE Midcap gaining 1.32 percent and BSE Smallcap with 0.98 percent. 

Adani Ports, Tata Steel, Tata Motors, ONGC and ICICI Bank are top gainers while TCS, Infosys and M&M are losers in the Sensex.
