Volatile session end with slight gain Nifty finished up 7.50 points while Sensex finished up 18.24 points with shares of Jindal steel up 7.73% and NTPC is up 3.81%. Today Midcap and Smallcap climb as compare to large cap share CNX Midcap gain 0.30 per cent while CNX Smallcap is up 0.38 per cent.
The 50-share Nifty index slipped below its crucial psychological level of 5,700. The index closed at 5,685.40, up 7.50 points, or 0.13 per cent.
The Nifty touched a high of 5,721.00 and a low of 5,661.50 today. The S&P BSE Sensex ended at 19,182.26, up 18.24 points, or 0.10 per cent. It touched a high of 19,306.51 and a low of 19,141.68.
The S&P BSE midcap index closed 0.48 per cent higher, while BSE S&P smallcap index gained 0.42 per cent.
