Indian indices ended today’s trade at their highest point of the day showcasing bullish mood. The trade at the ending hours witnessed major volatility in the market. Nifty was moving back and forth between 9,800 level throughout the day and finished at 9,852.5 level up by 86 pts. Sensex gained over 260 pts to close at 31,568 level aided mainly by HDFC Bank. Banks stocks were among the top gainers with ICICI Bank rising 1.3% and Allahabad Bank, Bank of India rose 22.5% each.
Infosys, kept on news coverage after co-founder NR Narayana Murthy postponed investors’ concall, which was expected to be scheduled later to August 29, citing health reasons. Infosys stock rose 2 percent, extending gains from previous close after it declined over 14 percent after Vishal Sikka's resignation as MD and CEO of the company.
Realty stocks kept public attention on the Exchanges all through the day. BSE Realty index was the top gainer among other sectoral indices on BSE. Indiabulls Real Estate closed up by 6.47 percent, DLF closed higher by 5.31 percent and HDIL closed higher by 3.11 percent at Rs 61.35 per share.
