Indian shares ended slightly lower on Tuesday, weighed down by RIL and Infosys, with investors focused on Sept-quarter GDP data, due on Thursday. The BSE Sensex is down 105.85 points at 33,618.59, while the NSE Nifty is down 29.30 points at 10,370.25.
Maruti Suzuki, BHEL, Indiabulls Housing and Zee TV gained the most, while NTPC, Bharti Infratel , Bharti Airtel and Aurobindo Pharma were the laggards.
Jindal Drilling stock rose over 3 percent after the company has been awarded contract from ONGC. Bharat 22 ETF made a stellar debut on Tuesday on the BSE, as the open-ended ETF got listed at 36.30/unit on BSE. Sectorally, the BSE Telecom fell most followed by consumer durables, teck Resources and IT stocks.
On the NSE, the Nifty PSU Bank slipped 1 percent whereas basic materials, finance, FMCG, auto and metal were trading in positive terrain. Among 1423 stocks traded on the NSE, 723 stocks advanced, 666 stocks declined, and 33 remained unchanged today.
