Market indices registered gains losing streak aided by rebound in AUTO majors and select index heavyweights. The Sensex ended up +186.14 points at 28599.03 and the Nifty50 ended up +37.30 points at 8,779.85. In the broader markets, BSE Midcap ended down 0.43% while the Small cap index ended 0.23 up. Market breadth ended negative with 1323 gainers and 1421 losers on the BSE. AUTO majors HEROMOTOCO and MARUTI which faced selling pressure in the previous sessions post their first quarter earnings recovered on renewed buying interest at lower levels. HEROMOTOCO ended up +1.96% while MARUTI edged +1.61% up.
